'Bag Boy', is a short film myself and some others made in the first year of university. I wanted to show the damage that can be caused by surprising emotions without a character having to speak a single word.
We represent the idea of somebody hiding their emotions behind a mask and as time goes by we see it become crinkled and torn to show the damage this can have on your wellbeing. At the end Bag Boy realises how damaging suppressing these emotions can be and scraps the mask to symbolise opening up about their struggles.
Additionally we gradually introduce more people wearing these bags to show that lots of people may be carrying these heavy burdens that they are afraid to talk about, hopefully spreading a sense of awareness of how everybody is fighting their own battles we just can't see it.
