HOSTAGE

'Hostage' was a production I made as my final project during college. Throughout my whole college journey I was always fascinated by what went into making a fight scene. I made one during my first year of college but decided I wanted to step it up a level and see if I could improve on it. I used the same concept of a gritty fight scene in a warehouse but this time I wanted to take advantage of both the environment and cinematography.

During this production I got heavily invested into the research of what it takes to make an effective fight scene. I attended martial arts classes like judo, choreographed the fight all the way through with the actors and even delved into the world of sound design to find out how I can make the hits sound real using foley.

I was really inspired by the song F.W.T.B. by YONAKA and remixed by Grandson. I worked my story around this idea of somebody messing up the boss of this operation who was holding someone hostage.

When someone comes to rescue them they get caught resulting in the grand fight that takes place.
